From battling malabsorption at birth to navigating juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, autoimmune disorders, depression, and a myriad of other health issues, my journey has been a testament to resilience. Countless doctor visits, surgeries, and medications marked my days until I decided I needed a different path.
In my pursuit of relief, I explored holistic remedies with intermittent success. However, it wasn't until the lockdown of 2020 that my partner and I decided to fully embrace a vegan lifestyle. Even with occasional indulgences from nearby vegan restaurants, I noticed a positive shift in my symptoms. Transitioning to a whole-food, plant-based diet allowed me to liberate myself from medications and forge a deeper connection with animals.
Residing in Los Angeles, I am fortunate to have access to a variety of plant-based restaurants. Yet, a word of caution—many places offer heavily processed vegan alternatives that don't contribute to healing. I've become an advocate for crafting my own meals, ensuring a nutrient-rich, inflammation-fighting approach to support disease reversal.
