Homemade Chai Tea Latte ☕

I drink chai tea lattes so often that I had to make a healthier sugar free and dairy free alternative and I'm so glad I did! Don't waste your money at the coffee shop when you can make gourmet lattes at home!

I’ll chat about the spices you can use (hello, cinnamon and cardamom!), the best types of tea, and how to get that perfect frothy finish. Homemade Chai Tea Latte

Servings: 5

Total Time: 15 minutes

Ingredients:

• ¼ tsp ground cardamom

• 2 cloves

• 4 cups / 900g unsweetened non-dairy milk

• 1 tbsp black tea leaves

• ½ cinnamon stick

• 2 tbsp / 1 oz monkfruit sugar substitute

• ½ tsp ground or fresh ginger

• ground cinnamon (topping)

Instructions:

1. Combine Ingredients: In a saucepan, combine the non-dairy milk, ground cardamom, cloves, black tea leaves (or tea bags), cinnamon stick, monk fruit sugar, and ginger.

2. Heat the Mixture: Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Do not let it come to a boil; you want it to be hot but not boiling.

3. Steep: Once hot, reduce the heat to low and let the mixture steep for about 5 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

4. Strain: Remove from heat and strain the chai mixture through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a large bowl or pitcher to remove the solids.

5. Serve: Pour the chai tea latte into mugs. Sprinkle a little ground cinnamon on top for garnish.

6. Enjoy: Serve warm and enjoy your homemade chai tea latte!
