Who said vegans have to give up BLTs... not me!;) And it tastes just as good as the real thing!!! OH HAPPY DAY:)
What you need:
spinach (or any salad greens)
vegan mayo (optional)
Try it yourself:
Saute smoky tempeh strips in olive oil until extra crispy, flipping when necessary. Lightly toast your sprouted bread (there are lots of brands to choose from) and then while hot brush on some garlic infused olive oil, along with a sprinkle of black pepper. Add crispy tempeh and toppings of choice like fresh avocado, tomato, & spinach. Optional add on: vegan mayo.
Tip: I always recommend sprouted bread over regular bread because it’s easier to digest, lower in carbs, and higher in protein & fiber. Sprouted grain bread is also lower in gluten, and has a lower glycemic index compared to regular bread. Enjoy it guilt free! Freeze right away for optimal freshness, and toast slices as needed.
